Centre for Alternatives for Victimised Women and Children (CAVWOC)

To empower women and children who have been victimized. Enshrined in this, is the principle of promoting women’s and children’s rights and achievement of gender equality regardless of one’s ethnicity, race, religion, sexuality and sexual orientation.

 The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR)

The Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation (CHRR) is one of the leading human rights non-governmental organizations in Malawi. It was founded in February 1995 as a non-profit, apolitical, voluntary organization registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 1962. The organization was founded by former students exiles who returned home to the promises of a new democracy in 1994.

 

The Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE)

The Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE) works to promote children’s rights, youth sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and youth empowerment through capacity building, advocacy, community mobilization and communication for positive social and change.

Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM)

Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM) is a local nongovernmental organization that provides comprehensive Youth friendly sexual and reproductive health services to young people 10- 24 years old. SRH Services in FPAM centres are provided in specially designed centres/clinics branded as Youth Life centres. FPAM provides both static and community based SRHR services.  Main focus is on the hard to reach and underserved communities in order to increase access to the services. These outreach sites are located in all the traditional authorities in the districts where FPAM is implementing its programmes.

The Coalition of Women Living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi (COWLHA)

The Coalition of Women Living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi (COWLHA) was established in 2006. It unites different groups of women as a civil society force in dealing with issues on gender and women’s rights in the context of HIV and AIDS that impact on the lives of women living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi. COWLHA’s mandate specifically seeks to enhance the protection and promotion of rights of women living with HIV and AIDS. At the moment, the membership of the coalition stands at approximately 15000 women living with HIV.

 

Youth Net and Counselling (YONECO)

YONECO is a registered Malawian Non-governmental organization that was established in 1997. YONECO is committed to empowering the youth, women and children; promoting good health, human rights and democracy; adapting and mitigating effects of climate change; and conducting research for evidence based programming and advocacy.
