Malawi Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance secretariat and its partner organizations are holding an Alliance week which commenced on 26th will end on 29th November, 2019.
The Alliance week is aimed at showcasing the progress which the network and its members have made in terms of promoting young people’s SRHR since January this year. The activity is also expected to enhance the Malawi SRHR Alliance’s collaboration with key government departments and other SRHR stakeholders in Malawi.
After the launch at Sun and Sand Holiday, the Alliance members and other key stakeholders visited the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Nankumba where YONECO is implementing Get Up Speak Out (GUSO) Project activities. The team had fruitful discussions with various community volunteers, young people as well as traditional and religious leaders from the area. The team has also interacted with communities in the area of TA Jalasi where CYCE is implementing its activities under the GUSO Programme.
The Alliance week is an annual event which the Malawi SRHR Alliance organizes with support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through a number of agencies namely; SIMAVI, Rutgers, AIDS Fonds, Choice and IPPF.
This year’s Alliance Week which will be held in Mangochi and Chikwawa districts is being held under the theme; Empowering young people to claim their sexual reproductive health and rights. !
