Who we are
We are a coalition of organisations and advocates working to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights for all in Malawi through networking and collaboration, evidence based advocacy, capacity building for Alliance members and resource
mobilization.
Malawi SRHR Alliance reaches to project beneficiaries through its member organizations in the 28 districts of Malawi. The member organizations form a critical mass towards achieving SRHR outcomes. Through its member organizations, the Alliance implements both bio-medical and non-biomedical interventions and makes significant contribution towards community health outcomes through activities such as SRHR outreach clinics and utilization of Young Community Based Distribution Agents (YCBDAs) who bring services closer to the people. One of the challenges that Malawi’s health sector faces is high maternal and child mortality and high incidence of HIV and AIDS among others. These are general challenges that the Alliance grapples with as well. Challenges peculiar to the Alliance include dwindling SRHR funding which affects the Alliance in terms of reach.
