The Malawi Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Alliance conducted an inception meeting for Transforming Lives Project at Chikuse in Dedza district. The meeting targeted members of Chikuse Area Development Committee (ADC) and health service providers.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute towards a more conducive policy enviorment that enables positive SRHR outcomes among adolecents and young women in Southern Africa.
Transforming Lives Project will improve access to SRHR services among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in a bid to reduce teenage pregnancies in the area.
Thus, through the project, the Malawi SRHR Alliance will recruit 10 young people from six villages within the area who will be operating as Social Accountability Monitoring for SRHR Champions.
The Malawi SRHR Alliance is implementing the Transforming Lives Project with financial support from SAFAIDS. Transforming lives Project is a regional programme which is also being implemented in other southern African countries including Lesetho, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
